Tribal pride fortnight on Birsa Munda birth anniversary from Nov 1-15, CM Yogi to attend main event in Sonbhadra

Lucknow, Nov 10 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is organising grand events across the state to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Lok Nayak Birsa Munda.
The "Tribal Pride Fortnight" will be celebrated from November 1-15. The series of events will conclude on November 15 in Sonbhadra, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the main event.
UP Tribal Welfare Minister Aseem Arun and State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh held a joint press conference in Lucknow on Monday to disclose the , details of the program.
Minister Aseem Arun stated that this event is an effort to bring the glorious traditions, struggles, and contributions of the country's tribal community to the public.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi, the government is implementing several schemes for the social, economic, and cultural empowerment of the tribal community.
He informed that during the Tribal Pride Fortnight from November 1 to November 15, cultural programs, public awareness rallies, discussions, and exhibitions will be organised across the state. The "Tribal Participation Festival" will be held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow from November 13 to November 18.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh stated that this event will showcase the tribal traditions and diversity not only of Uttar Pradesh but of the entire country. He stated that Arunachal Pradesh will also participate as a special partner state.
He stated that in keeping with the spirit of "One India - Best India," this event will strengthen national unity, cultural exchange, and social harmony. Tribal art, dance, music, handicrafts, and food traditions will be showcased.
Minister Asim Arun stated that in addition to artists from various tribal communities of Uttar Pradesh, artists from other states will also present their cultural offerings at the Tribal Participation Festival held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
The objective of the government is to respect the pride, tradition and contribution of the tribal society and to promote unity and harmony in the society.
